Located at San Remo on 25 acres, Camp Breakaway has put out a call for more volunteers to support the busy 2018 program.

Camp Breakaway is seeking volunteers to fill a number of roles including personal carers, activity coordinators, camp managers, nurses (retired or working), dish washers and cleaners, as well as auxiliary members, gardeners and tradesmen.

"From the very first camp, more than 35 years ago, nurses have been stepping up to provide clinical care for the children and adults with disabilities who attend our camps," said Terry.

"Nurses play a vital role at Camp Breakaway and are a reassurance to families that their family member - child or adult - will be professionally cared for while at a Breakaway camp.

Camp Breakaway began 2018 with three camps that focused on young carers and siblings and children with autism. These are the first of approximately 30 camps that will be run this year at the 25 acre facility located in San Remo.
